Credit unions
World has formed many organization which are helpful in the development and improvement of the financial positions of the people. Credit union is also a financial institution that helps the people to build their financial positions. They work just like banks but there is a restriction that the owner of the credit union is not government or any other individual but the owners are the persons who do have an account in the credit union. No one from elsewhere can take loan or do any other financial activity. So the most important thing to initiate any activity is to have an account in the credit union.
We can say that everything in the credit union is the account holder. The interest rate policies are defined by the members. Board of directors is the person who is going to decide the major important issues. Board of director is also choosed by the members. Members only can deposit money. Members only have the authority of borrowing money. So credit union is all about its members. They only value their members. So to have member of credit union, to improve your financial position, to have better contacts you are just one step away. That step is to have an account in the credit union which is very easy. There are also credit union banks working right now in the world. They are same like credit union but the member circle is somewhat larger and flexible.
There are many credit unions working in the world. In fact credit union can be build at any level. Members just have to deposit money and the depositor is going to have some profit. The people among the members who want money can borrow money with charge of some interest rate and that amount is the revenue for the person who had deposits his money in the credit union. Credit unions can be formed at any level. There are state credit unions which are operating at national level. Means only the members of that state can have an account in the state credit union. Ultimately those persons can have the right to borrow money when they need or deposit it if it is not needed for some time. So, state credit unions are working on the purpose of improving the financial health of the people living in that state only.
As it is mentioned above those credit unions can be build at any level. So we can say that there can be a navy federal credit union. Navy federal credit unions are working in different states for the sake of the improvement of financial position of the navy men. Navy men are the contributors of the credit union and they are also the beneficiaries of the credit union. There are many navy federal credit unions working in different states working for the sake of the navy forces.
A community can be a level. Community cannot be distinguished by any particular group of people. Women can have their community, army can have a community and in the same way some friends together can form a community. There are many communities working on the internet. They are working on the same concept that the members of the community can interact with each other in by the way they want and they can have service of particular community. People belonging to one religion can form a community and same e people having same sect can together make a community. Credit union can also work on community level and can be called as community credit union. Community credit unions having only the members of the community work for only the members of the community. There are many community credit unions working in Pakistan.
Credit unions can also be formed at school level. School credit union can have two types of credit unions. One for teacher and the other for student but they both can have the same. School credit unions are built for the betterment of the school and the members contribute for the betterment. They also take advantage they gain from this organization. School credit unions also help building the confidence of individuals in the school for the future.
Teacher's credit union is the subset of school credit union and is meant for only the teachers. Teacher's credit union is helping teachers out with their own money. They can have individual participation and can collectively improve the financial position of their school. Teacher credit unions are very efficient in some schools which are up to the standards.
There are forum credit unions working. Forum is formed on the web or at any other medium. They are meant for discussions. Forums credit union gives loans and helps the people who had logged into the website and have accounts. There are many forum credit unions working right now at the internet.
There are also credit unions on the city level. There are city credit unions working in every major city of Pakistan. City credit unions, all are helping the city people to improve their conditions with the help of their own money.
There are also workers credit unions working in many industries. They can be workers of a particular company or a city. They together make a credit union that is beneficial to the members and helpful in their work. There are very workers credit unions working right now for the betterment of the people and are really helpful for the workers working in different departments. For example lawyers can have their workers credit union working for their benefits.
The first credit union was founded and lead by Hermann Schulze-Delitzsch. His idea of first credit union was very good with restricted number of people working mutually. It was a very successful idea and this idea traveled a lot and the proof is that nowadays there are a lot of credit unions working for the betterment of people.
